What is the difference between a fountain, a water feature and a pond?
Above is a fountain, it has water that is projected upwards and the water is free-falling until it lands in a pool / sump.
There are no plants or any livestock in the pool / sump.

Above is a water feature, the water emits form an orifice and follows the structure back to the pool / sump
There are no plants or any livestock in the pool / sump.

Above is a pond.
There are two types of pond
A natural pond is a pool of water which has only plants and any wildlife that calls it home.
The Livestock pond has fish as well as plants etc, but as it has fish it must have filtration, which will mean a waterfall and or fountain.
Obviously there are slight variants of all the above, but these are the main points.
