Make money from Fountains Make money from fountains?
Let us start at the beginning, what is your idea of a fountain? Is it picture A or is it picture B?
Most people would say "A" Well although it is a fountain, it is actually a fountain for a pond, (even by "pond standards" it's big) there are lots of suppliers of "pond fountains", Exclusive Fountains specialise in "Commercial fountains" and large fountain "projects" Picture B is what we would call a fountain (Even by our standards its small) Most people seem to assume that to build a fountain you buy "a pump" and attach "a nozzle" and that is all there is to it. But you have to know how high and wide the jet is to be, in order to select the right pump, you also need to know the pool size, to find out, is the requested nozzle pattern big enough or too big. There are a whole host of similar questions that you need to know in order to make the correct decisions, It is the decisions that determine will the fountain work. But back to YOU making money from fountains. We suggest that you start a fountain hire company. Why not hire fountains for wedding receptions, barmiztvers or other special events. (We know of a company that does do this) and we will promote you. You can not really "sell fountains on" unless you have the knowledge of what will or more to the point, will not work together. We often get enquiries from students wanting to make a fountain for their "assignment" they never come to fruition because of the cost involved. (we do not supply tiny nozzles) We have had enquiries from established companies, some from within the E.U. They seem to be of the opinion making money from fountains is easy and simple, if only it were that easy. Good quality, good looking fountains never come cheap, but they will last for years. Some examples of "perceived costs" ___________________________ Take "Mr or Mrs Average" for example. They have just had a garden make over , and forgot about a fountain, they usually want to spend around £100 and they want lights too. (They soon forget they spent several £K on the make over) Why install a tiny pool and fountain if it will look out of place? ___________________________ We had an enquiry from some one who wanted 100 "items" for "his project" his budget was £800, We had to assume the enquirer had just made up the figure of £800 without any thought, Simple maths tells you he thought he could pay £8 per "item" sorry but quality costs. It was soon apparent to the enquirer that £8 per item was too little, realising his error, he gave up with his project. ___________________________ An E.U. based company who wanted to "sell fountains on" we suggested they start at the "low end" of the market, but despite our advice they chose to ignore it, they always asked about fountains at the "Top end" costing over £25k, they soon gave up. ___________________________ We had an enquiry from a company who are "In the water industry" and they claimed "We know a bit about fountains" and they wanted to "buy some stuff and rig it up" (Their words, not ours) it soon became apparent they knew nothing about fountains and of how fountains work, they too soon gave up. ___________________________ In general We tell you how it really is, what you do next is your choice. Often its the fact people really have no idea how fountains work, that makes them give up. There really is more to fountains than it appears. If you really do want to make money with fountains why not start a fountain hire company? Most who enquire give up for one of two reasons. 1) The initial cost is more more than first thought. In order for a fountain to have "wow" factor, it must either be very big or unique. 2) It's not as simple as they think. Small fountains can be a suitably sized nozzle and pump, but when you have multiple nozzles, pumps and lights, it soon becomes "complicated" (But we are here to make it easier for you) We here at Exclusive Fountains are willing to help you all the way. There is a whole market out there who would like a hire fountain for special events, weddings etc, We know one company that charges £2,000 / day. We can not do it because of our other commitments.
